Ceann Comhairle John O‘Donoghue said, “ I am pleased that €40,210 is being allocated by the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr Michael Kitt, T.D., to Kerry County Council for 2009 to support the work of the Community and Voluntary Forum in Kerry. The forum is an important body which strengthens local democracy and is actively involved in providing training and support for people involved in voluntary activity. They nominate members onto various local government structures such as County Development Boards and other Policy Committees locally”.
