Kerry South : O’Donoghue welcomes over €35 million funding for Local Authority Housing in Kerry

Ceann Comhairle John O’Donoghue TD said,” I welcome this significant funding for local Authority Housing and rental and regeneration scheme allocations in Kerry.

The Social Housing Investment programme (SHIP) totals €21m including €9m for Kerry County Council and €3m for Killarney Town Council.

The Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme (CLSS), administered by Kerry County Council through Voluntary housing Associations for Kerry is over €2m.

The Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) allocation for the elderly and those with special needs and the homeless is €2.47 m.

€1.08m is allocated for traveller housing in Kerry.

€2.335m is allocated for Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS)

The improvement works allocations for Kerry in 2009 include €5.5m for regeneration work which includes remedial work to housing and the environment.
€760,000 is allocated to Kerry for Retrofitting – energy efficiency works for local authority housing. This includes €40,000 for Killarney Town Council.
