Fáilte romhat go dtí an suíomh seo. Tá áthas orm go bhfuil tú ábalta teagmháil liom agus tá súil agam go léifidh tú ábhar suimúil, úsáideach ann.

It is indeed a great honour for me to have been chosen by you, the people of Kerry South to serve you in Dáil Éireann. I will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of Kerry South and will strive to make a real and lasting difference to the welfare and well-being of the people of this constituency.

As a Minister I promised you that I would use my place at the Cabinet to fight tirelessly for Kerry, and particularly for my constituency. I make no apology for that. The fruits of our economic success must be shared equally. Keeping Kerry at the heart of Government has meant that we have been able to make a significant contribution to the promotion, encouragement and enhancement of Kerry life.

Throughout that time I was delighted to have been in a position to oversee major improvements to the infrastructure of Kerry. For example, through the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, I provided funding to a number of worthwhile arts projects in Kerry South including in excess of €1m to Tech Amergin, Community Education Centre, Waterville; €405,000 to the Cill Rialaig artists retreat in Ballinskelligs; €1,135,000 to Carnegie Arts Centre, Kenmare; €50,000 for the modernisation of the stage in the CYMS Hall, Killorglin and €1.6 million to Kerry County Council for the South Kerry Arts Centre as part of a wider redevelopment of the library building in Cahirciveen.

Almost €20m has been allocated to County Kerry under the Sports Capital Programme since 1998 to provide badly needed facilities and equipment.

In the area of childcare, projects in Kerry are availing of over €26m in approved funding under the Childcare Programmes, which is leading to the provision of almost 2,000 new childcare places and the support of almost 1,200 existing places throughout the County.

Capital funding of €15.7m has been allocated for Dingle Community Hospital under the Health Capital Programme 2006-2011, which is administered by the HSE. Once completed, this hospital will ensure first class accommodation and care for older people from the area.

There have been extensive improvements in Kerry South across all sectors. Details of these achievements will be available to you on my website. I intend to continue in the same vein in the coming years to ensure that Kerry South is well represented and continues to benefit from Ireland's economic growth.

I firmly believe that no man can hope to be truly representative of his electorate unless there is a very strong level of communication between him and them. As you my constituents are aware, I have always been, and will continue to be, available to you. This website will present you with yet another point of contact. I intend it to act as a portal to developments and issues concerning you, the people of Kerry South.

Tá bhúr Rialtas dírithe go h-iomlán ar fís, treoir, agus infheistíocht a chur ar fáil a chinnteoidh go mbeidh deis chuthrom do gach duine sa tír seo – Éire fé shíocháin agus fé rath. Is onóir dom freastal a dhéanmh oraibh agus táim chun leanúint ar aghaidh ag obair go cruaidh ar bhúr son chun a chinntiú go dtabharfar cluas le h-éisteacht do bhúr bhfadhbanna agus na cúraimí atá tábhachtach díbh.

I hope that you will find the website both useful and interesting, and that you will visit it often. Thank you.
